Who We Are
Sarah Bunin Benor is a professor at Hebrew Union College and the University of Southern California. One of the courses she teaches each year is "Language, Race, and Identity in the United States Today," a freshman seminar at USC. One of the questions on the 2017 final exam was: "Write a letter to a Disney executive about how past Disney films perpetuate standard language ideology and raciolinguistic stereotypes. Offer suggestions for addressing the problems in future films." Dr. Benor created this blog to highlight some of the best student responses to this question.
